Thomas Randal Nance was born in Winner, South Dakota on September 22, 1952 to James and Betty Nance.  He received his elementary education for eight years in a one-room country school, and graduated from Colome High School.  He served in the U.S. Navy for four years as a Medical Corpsman. 

 

After military service he enrolled and graduated from McKennan Hospital’s School of Radiological Technology in Sioux Falls SD.  He has a son, Jesse, who lives in Denver, a daughter, Kelly, a Senior at Black Hills State University and Granddaughter, Abbi. His Lady is Miriam Stewart. He is employed as the Medical Imaging Supervisor in the Radiology Imaging Department, Sheridan Memorial Hospital, Sheridan, WY. 

Professional and personal memberships include The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, the Memorial Hospital Foundation, the American Legion, and the United Methodist Church.

Tom was initiated, passed and raised in Sheridan Lodge No. 8, Sheridan WY in 1988; serving as Worshipful Master in 1993.  Dual Member; Dubois Lodge No. 53.  He served the Grand Lodge as District Instructor of District No. 9 in 1998-2000, and was installed as Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of AF & AM of Wyoming at the 133rd annual communication of the Grand Lodge of Wyoming in August, 2007.

In 1988 he joined the Sheridan York Rite Bodies, serving as High Priest of Sheridan Chapter No. 7, RAM, in 1992-93, Illustrious Master of Sheridan Council No. 3, Cryptic Masons, 1993-94, Commander of DeMolay Commandery No. 6, Knights Templar, 1991-92.  Other York Rite memberships and offices include: Master of Ceremonies of the Holy Order of High Priesthood and Illustrious Master of the Thrice Illustrious Masters of WY.  Past Sovereign and present Recorder, Saint Denys Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine.  Past Prior of Wyoming Priory No.44, Knights of the York Cross of Honour; District No. 15 Personal Representative of the Convent General Knights of the York Cross of Honor. Seneschal of Equality York Rite College No.92.  Associate Regent of the York Rite College of North America and Recipient of the Order of the Purple Cross.  Sixth Pillar; Agnus Dei Tabernacle No.  XLIV, HRAKTP.  VIII ° Grade Supreme Magnus College; MSRICF.  Life Member Kincora Council No. 8: Knight Masons.

In 1997 he became a member of the Valley of Sheridan, Scottish Rite Bodies.  Past Venerable Master of the Lodge of Perfection, Junior Warden in the Rose Croix, Past Commander in the Council of Kadosh, and Past Preceptor in the Sheridan Consistory.  Participates in the 4th,  18th,  and 27th Degrees, and was a Fellowship recipient to the 1998 Scottish Rite Leadership Conference. Member; Royal Order of Scotland.  Invested as a KCCH in 2001; and was coroneted as an Inspector General Honorary in 2005.

Member of Naomi Chapter No. 2, and Friendship Chapter No 51, O.E.S., and served as Worthy Patron in 1999-2000.  Member; Kalif Temple, AAONMS in 1988, has served as Director and Chief Rabban of the Ceremonial Divan, and is a member of the Oriental Band.
